Burlesque Dance Class

All in all, the class I went to was fun. But the part where someone rips my shirt off of me is probably a bit much. I wasn’t overly ecstatic about the fact that the ladies hadn’t had their routine together quite yet and were still trying to figure parts out while teaching it. There were 8 women including myself and 1 man who slightly reminded me of the guy from Rocky Horror Picture Show. For entertainment value, the class was cool, but if you are a wife looking to do a slow, seductive tease for your husband, this probably is not it. There were no glove techniques or fun use of the feather boas as promised by the class description. Our dance was set to a very fast song. I guess they didn’t really take in consideration their audience and the scope of what most women are looking for. It wasn’t for the shy, that’s for sure. I did shimmy and shake my tatas and boom boom and we did work the chair. Like I said, entertainment value, yes. Practicality that these women went home and did the routine to the song by the Queers, unlikely. In fact, two of the ladies from the class excused themselves from the class to shop instead of doing what they came for. I was disappointed. I think next time, they should consider that something slower, simpler and a little less over the top may be a bit more serving to their audience than to do something so risque with first-timers. I’ve googled their shows quite a bit and to be honest, this one was definitely one of the more over the top routines than what I’ve seen. Girls had a great attitude, but definitely need to think about their audience and whom they are teaching to. That’s my ten cents on the topic. Not to mention, no one is going to rip a shirt off of me. I do not play into violence and sex as a healthy form of sexuality. That’s my opinion and hey, I’m entitled to it
